Xbox Elite controller on PC
PC games already read the Xbox Elite controller on its own. OpenController lists it and leaves it alone, so it keeps a player number of its own when friends join with other controllers.

What works
Extra buttons: none, games already support it
Aim by moving it: no
Light bar: no · Touchpad as buttons: no
Windows does not pass the Elite's paddles on to programs, except as copies of other buttons set in the Xbox Accessories app.
How to set it up
- 1Download OpenController and open it. On Windows, its Requirements page installs the free drivers it needs, when you click.
- 2Connect the controller by cable, Bluetooth or its receiver. It shows up in OpenController's window, drawn in its own shape.
- 3Open your game. It keeps reading the controller as it already did, now with a steady player number.
